Who am I
Self-taught extrovert. Natural-born questioner. Forever curious.
Hi there, I'm Jae (like the letter). I'm a question asker and storyteller who has an insatiable curiosity for people and the experiences that makes them crack a smile or nod their head. Sometimes, also known as a content designer or UX strategist.
For me, there’s nothing better than finding that sweet spot between insightful data, meaningful strategies, and impactful content to deliver thoughtful and intuitive product experiences to people.
What I’ve done
This bias towards learning and connection has led me to being a Staff Design Strategist on the Central Product Inclusion & Equity team at Google where I’m focused on building an inclusion and equity-focused design practice across the company.
Prior to Google, I had evolving roles across Facebook/Meta, including:
Content design lead and interim content design manager on the Product Architecture team. We worked across the company to maintain and evolve the Facebook app's architecture, and help leadership address the most urgent core initiatives across the company (including cultural relevance, agency & control, equitable design, and more).
Lead content designer on the News team in NYC where I helped create, launch and scale Facebook News. I also worked with a cross-company task force that addressed important cultural moments and movements (projects ranged from COVID-19 Info Center to Lift Black Voices to Pride).
Senior content designer on the Profile and Dating teams where I co-create Facebook Dating and I was the lead in creating a more inclusive user experience for the LGBTQ+ community by utilizing inclusive design principles.
Prior to Facebook/Meta, I was a content strategist and marketer at Twitter on the global media team. Before that, I helped startups of all sizes establish and scale their content and marketing channels.
Prior to working in tech, I pitched and headed up the first SEO department for Finish Line — where I also had evolving roles from branded and social content, community relations, to copywriting.
What drives me
My constant objective is to learn, collaborate, and problem solve with good people who care deeply about the work. Building rich product narratives, fostering healthy team culture and collaboration, and advocating for thoughtful and responsible user experiences are core to what I love about what I do.
If you'd like to know a bit more about me, here's my LinkedIn profile, a resume of my work, and recommendations from some amazing folks I've had the privilege of working with.
Otherwise, reach out if "we've always done it this way" is your #1 enemy or you'd like me to consult on design strategy, content design, user experience design and writing, or product strategy.
All the best,
Jae
